I have had both English cream and American, I will say my English cream seems to have a slightly better temperament less anxiety he comes from a show line from Eastern Europe and he is getting to be a big boy he’s nine months and he’s already over 80 pounds and healthy as an ox, next to having kids has been my golden retrievers!!!

Got my pups DNA today. He’s 50% golden, 25% Doberman, 12.5 German shepherd. When we got him we thought we were getting a black Labrador. He’s absolutely beautiful n sooo happy with our boy 🥰

Actually, what was said in this video applies to all breeds. The chewing, biting, potty training, jumping, etc. Even the hair, if a dog is double coated, which many many are, they will shed more than a dog that is single coated. I had a Golden and a German Shepherd and a shepherd husky mix. With almost daily grooming there isn’t a problem with hair. As for the energy, they are a working dog, but you put in the time everyday with them, playing and training, then they are chill when in the house. The important thing to remember is that people need to research the dog before they get it. I know of someone who after being married for a year, he and his wife saw some beautiful Australian shepherd puppies and got one not knowing anything about it. Guess what got given away by the time it was a year. All puppies are cute. But puppies grow into dogs that will behave according to its breed. An unsocialized unsupervised and untrained puppy or dog, any breed, will be a problem. People need to research the breeds and consider their lifestyle before adopting. But unfortunately most buy on emotion.

My golden retriever’s fav toy is definitely her duck! It’s not rubber or plastic, it’s a chew toy! We like to play tug of war with him with that duck! He even sleeps with it! lol it’s really cute!

English creams if they’re the show variety are fat lazy swimmers, gun variants have a lot more energy; but in my experience even our gun dogs operate around 70% of the American goldens. Maybe it’s our space we operate in acres not hectares!

I can’t get any dog because I am very emotional so if dog died then I will get some problem or need to go to the doctor , I am kind of scared because of attachment .. wish I can get a dog but dog will die later once I will die…❤❤❤ because I can’t take that pain.. I do not know how people are easily saying that our dog died .. I can’t even write ✍️.. it makes me soo emotional 😭 god give me some strength ❤ I wish all dogs live long so nobody get hurt 😊

Get a mutt from the rescue !!!!! Less genetic dysplasia’s etc , live a long time and really appreciate having anything at all after fending for themselves

If you get your Golden from a professional breeder be sure to specify the energy level you want. Generally the three levels are low, medium and high. A medium energy Golden is easy to control, less dominant, can enjoy being a couch potato and take less time to exercise to the point where they’re tired and satisfied.

Hell on earth for us the frist 2 weeks. First time with GR. Everything you mention is 💯 true. The biting, go from here to there etc. It is like raisng a terrible 2 lol. And yes very expensive pup. They required 24/7 2 eyes supervision as pup that is the truth. We had Shih Tzu he was totally the opposite of GR.
